Game Tile Warehouse Returns

Dear Customers,

After a long hiatus and much soul-searching, I have decided to return to my map anvil as The Maphatter and continue the creation of new Meanders RPG Digital Modular Battlemaps.

Although I left the industry as the challenges mounted from AI-created maps which decimated my earnings, I have re-committed to my pledge to get my map range to that epic number of at least 3000 maps by 2026.

Following my departure, I pursued a degree in Counter-Terrorism, leaving my station here at the Warehouse and hanging up my mapping hat. With just one year left to go, I found profound and uncompromisable disagreement with the conduct of my university and refused to alter my principles. I abandoned my degree, realizing any good I could do in that space would be extremely limited.

As some of you know, I recently launched a new interest as an amateur archaeologist, making discoveries regarding the worldwide phenomenon of cup-and-ring motifs. Despite a successful campaign to fund my research, because of the gravity of what I found, I cancelled the Kickstarter and made my findings freely available at https://icanreadthestones.wordpress.com.

I suppose in many ways I needed a break from my mapping empire to realize its true worth — to me, and to others. Through Meanders, I bring smiles, joy, intrigue, and have had the pleasure of knowing my artwork is used on tens of thousands of tables around the world to bring myths to life.

While AI has transformed mapping, and I explored AI in small ways too, there are still many things it cannot do — and one of them is create New Meanders. Only I can do that, the traditional way, with my trusty anvil, GIMP.

Over a decade now, Meanders has remained consistent in its style, strategy, and soul without sacrificing quality or beauty. Since 2015, it's held its own — distinct in appearance, theme, and modular function.

Every now and then, I hear from someone who uses and loves Meanders or whose DM uses them on their table and I feel immense pride and satisfaction.

I owe it to you, to them, to myself, and to the project to return and finish what we started. And so, I am making a new pledge: 4000 maps by 2027.
